We are currently recruiting for a Pricing Actuary I in our Pricing, Underwriting & Customer Analytics Department. Reporting to the Retail Market Pricing Manager, your role will be to support the pricing function within AXA Ireland to achieve overall financial targets for all classes of business / channels / territories written by AXA Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical, business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders across the business to achieve AXA’s account priorities. You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. Responsibilities: • Responsible for tactical-pricing performance of allocated account / product. • Implement and maintain tactical pricing and premium optimisation routines to maximise portfolio value. • Ensure that pricing actions are aligned to overall AXA account targets and strategic financial plan. • Abide by AXA customer fairness expectations and all applicable regulations. • Makes pricing recommendations to ensure profitability and effectively communicates these recommendations to the business. • Monitor performance of rating actions and overall account KPIs against expectations and identify solutions as required. • Assist with mentoring, leading and developing more junior staff. • Represents Pricing team on cross-functional projects within AXA Ireland. • Participate in projects between pricing departments in other AXA entities. • Is flexible within the role and prepared to undertake other duties as assigned by line manager from time to time. • Student/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland or equivalent body or data science background with demonstrated commercial acumen. • Will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in actuarial / pricing / data science related work. Experience in non-life personal lines pricing is preferred. • Actively progressing towards actuarial qualification, or qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries or equivalent. • Highly motivated individual with a proven track record of delivering work with a high level of quality, and within agreed timescales. • Excellent understanding of Market Pricing processes; propensity modelling, price elasticity, premium optimisation, fair pricing, account management etc. • High level of competency in R, Python and/or other programming language is desirable. • High level of competency in Microsoft Office suite. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively with others and influence at all levels of the organisation. • Awareness of the overall compliance to Health & Safety, IT Security and all legislation/compliance in Actuarial function. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
