Description:

This is an exciting career opportunity in the field of Commercial Lines pricing that would suit a recent or upcoming graduate, or experienced analyst who is able to provide innovative and effective analysis for Direct Line Group with a focus on the delivery of Pricing recommendations for Commercial Lines packages business for our broker and direct brands.
Commercial Lines is an increasingly meaningful part of Direct Line Group’s success story, making up £74m of DLG’s 2017 total operating profit of £611m. Going forward, there are ambitious plans to deliver further performance improvements via a pricing transformation program that entails using improved risk, geo and demand models,
having an improved data infrastructure, and having access to an advanced suite of analytical tools.

Hours: 35 hours (Monday - Friday 9am-5pm)

Responsibilities:

You will Support the wider Commercial Pricing team in providing an innovative and effective rate delivery service for Direct Line Group including but not limited to, creating technical specifications, updating emulations of productionised rating engines and creating test packs to prove/disprove changes. This will also include:

  • Owning, building, maintaining and monitoring emulations of the productionised rating engines and documentation for the Commercial Package business across a range of products and formats
  • Engaging with the Change team, P&U and P&L owners to ensure the Commercial rating strategy is supported.
  • Engaging in technical discussions with stakeholders to ensure that business needs and time frames are met.
  • Planning, managing and delivering specific tasks and projects in a pro-active, timely and accurate manner, providing insights, impacts and recommendations.
