Description DATA MANAGEMENT Enter, review, and adjust product costs and margins to support company guidelines and goals. Process product item maintenance in BR Data provided by product departments or vendor communications. Provide movement and margin data to department managers and/or buyers to assist in making profitable buying decisions. Quickly troubleshoot scanning/register issues at the POS system to assure positive customer experience. Maintain open contact with department managers and Procurement to troubleshoot non-scanning items, pricing discrepancies or inventory control issues. Monitor /scan products to assure and maintain accurate data management regarding pricing integrity; make necessary changes. Complete data compilation requests. As assigned, capture and recommend changes to retail prices on specific items. Assist in efforts to effectively apply scheduled cost or retail price increases. Monitor and update store signage to accurately inform customers and help drive sales Communicate timely and effectively with vendors, Accounting, IT and/or Product Departments to resolve problems. Implement processes for new programs as identified and needed. Update promotional information in Price Optimizer, using competitive price testing. Expand competitive pricing tracking to include local, conventional and online competitors. Input data to set daily, weekly and/or monthly sale promotions. Consult with marketing team and product departments to identify and plan for successful product promotions. Complete special projects as assigned by management staff. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Cross-train selected store staff on proper data management, signage and waste/transfer procedures. Follow up frequently to ensure integrity of data in all inventory and POS systems. Share and provide instruction on best practices to incorporate into methodology and process to continuously improve. Give frequent positive and constructive critical feedback on all set priorities. Address and resolve problems with staff; issues that cannot be resolved should be referred to the appropriate department manager. Participate in department meetings on a regular and ongoing basis; keep all meeting notes in an assigned place. Establish and maintain a positive work environment that supports high department performance and morale Requirements Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving Excellent MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) capabilities required Ability to manage data within a complex database required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Well-organized, pays attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands. Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job.
