At West Midlands Trains, we’re looking for a Pricing Implementation Manager to help us deliver a smarter, more efficient fares strategy. As Pricing Implementation Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering West Midlands Trains’ fares and ticketing strategy. With a deep understanding of our pricing structure, you’ll lead the implementation of fares, restrictions, and routing, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Revenue Management & Pricing Manager, you’ll help drive revenue performance through effective and accurate pricing execution.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • Strong knowledge of fares, ticketing, and pricing structures within the rail industry
  • Proven experience implementing pricing strategies and fare changes
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in revenue or commercial functions

Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy Implementation: Deliver agreed fare strategies using systems like the Product Management System (PMS), supporting future ticketing developments including smart and digital ticketing.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pricing activity complies with industry regulations, acting as a key contact for the Department for Transport on pricing matters.
Product Development & Launch: Lead the technical implementation of new fare products, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth rollout across retail systems.
Internal & External Communication: Communicate fare changes clearly across the business and to industry stakeholders, ensuring retail publications and systems are accurate and up to date.
Retail Support: Respond to fare-related queries from ticket offices and support teams, maintaining service standards and resolving anomalies.
Industry Engagement: Represent WMT at industry groups and contribute to business cases for pricing and policy changes.
Scholars Discount Scheme: Support the pricing aspects of the WMT Scholars Discount Scheme.
