JOB SUMMARY:

The Pricing Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing pricing strategies to optimize profitability and achieve our business objectives. This individual will be responsible for monitoring industry pricing trends, determining appropriate price levels for tests and ancillary services and be the overall owner of the pricing process. The Pricing Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations and finance, to ensure alignment and effectiveness of pricing strategies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in laboratory services business in finance, purchasing, sales, or customer service
  • Familiarity with price analytics, data analysis and reporting, and database management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable pricing strategies.
  • Detail-oriented with advanced organizational, problem-solving analytical and financial skills required.
  • Proficient user of MS Office, Excel Spreadsheets, Power BI, and web-based applications
  • Experience with pricing negotiations and contract management is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment,
  • Ability to work productively in a remote or office setting.
Responsibilities
  • Ownership of Food & Beverage Business Unit pricing process; updating the SOP as appropriate, driving consistency and ensuring compliance
  • Determine appropriate price levels for new and existing tests, ancillary items, couriers and digital solutions by analyzing competitive intelligence, cost analysis and market conditions to achieve company revenue and margin targets.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer behavior to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
  • Identify tools, resources and SOP changes to improve the accuracy, speed and efficiency of developing price proposals
  • Lead General Price Increase process including recommended % increase, financial modeling, customer communication, LIMS implementation and monitoring performance to target
  • Develop strategy and harmonization of catalog pricing for Chemistry and Microbiology services.
  • Work closely with the Sales team on large Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop a proposal that is both competitive but also meets the company margin targets within the RFP timeline
  • Review price proposals to make certain price levels are appropriate for size and category of customer and the full process is followed including technical and operations review of methods quoted
  • Monitor pricing performance and key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases and systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
