We are seeking a dietitian with good clinical knowledge and a commitment to progress within our innovative team to establish a career in community dietetics.
This role will provide you with a wide portfolio of clinical experience in nutrition support, chronic disease management and preventive medicine.
You will be joining an award-winning team of highly experienced community dietitians who hold regular peer support meetings and provide 1:1 Practice supervision to facilitate clinical excellence and personal development. You will participate in our annual audit programme, student training and encouraged to develop innovative service changes alongside senior colleagues.
Managing your own clinical caseload, you will see patients at outpatient clinics (both face to face and virtually). You will be supported to develop your clinical competencies for nutrition support and long term conditions.
You must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for working in a community setting. Communicating evidence-based personalised dietetic advice to the diverse population of Brent in an engaging style is a key component of this position.
You will have responsibility for providing a dietetic service including appropriate dietary assessment and treatment in the outpatient clinic setting. The post holder will liaise with the Specialist Primary Care Dietitians when additional guidance is required or a patient has complex clinical needs.
You will work autonomously to calculate energy requirements and to recommend food fortification to meet nutritional requirements or an appropriate prescription for oral nutrition supplements.
You will apply communication, negotiation and counselling skills to empower patients to achieve long term lifestyle and behavioural changes. This involves taking into account emotional, physical, social and psychological barriers as well as strong influences on change such as depression, dementia, language difficulties, resistant attitudes, aggression, behavioural problems, and mental illness.
Just as we care about our patients’ well-being, we care about yours!
