Job description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking experienced Primary Care Physicians (MD/DO) to provide high-quality medical care services in secure healthcare settings across California correctional institutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California (MD or DO)
• Board Certified in Primary Care or related specialty
• Valid ACLS Certification
• Valid DEA Certification
• Must maintain active credentialing status
• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 36 continuous months of Primary Care experience within the last 5 years
• For specialized roles (e.g., Emergency Medicine, Surgery): Minimum 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in that setting
• For OB/GYN roles (female facilities): At least 1 year of OB/GYN experience within the last 5 years

• Deliver direct patient care within the physician’s scope of practice and institution policies
• Complete all required documentation, records, and treatment plans
• Coordinate diagnostic testing and specialty referrals (with prior authorization as needed)
• Participate in case reviews, peer evaluations, and internal audits when requested
• Prescribe medications in accordance with the facility’s formulary (or with appropriate authorization)
• Adhere to infection control, medical ethics, and safety protocols
• No experimental or investigational treatments may be administered without proper approval
