PRIMARY SCHOOL RECEPTIONIST AND STUDENT SERVICES
Applications are invited from warm and friendly customer service/administrative professionals to join our team in the Primary School Office. This is a full time, permanent onsite position with working hours generally from 7.30am – 3.30pm and commencing as soon as possible. Flexibility exists to tailor this role to work throughout the year, or only during the school terms, based on the preferences of the successful applicant.
As the first point of contact for our Primary students, families and visitors, our reception team play a vital part in creating a calm, caring and warm atmosphere within the school. From helping a child who has forgotten their lunch, liaising with parents about wet-weather sport cancellations, tending to a sick or injured student, or calmly responding to the unexpected, you will be a steady and reassuring presence, ready to turn your hand to whatever the day might bring. As part of our Student Services team, you will also provide basic First Aid and health care to students.
Administratively, you will also manage front office enquiries, answer and direct phone calls, process invoices, assist students, and provide a wide range of administrative support to the staff. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) is essential, along with a willingness to continue to learn new IT systems and processes.
The successful applicant will have prior experience in a busy reception or customer service role, ideally within a school setting. They will communicate clearly and warmly with both adults and young children, and will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, embracing the fact that no two days are the same. They will work confidently and independently, while also contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive team. Empathy, discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information are essential, as is the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure. The successful applicant for this role will also be committed to the full life of the school and supportive of its Christian ethos.
Above all, we are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, values relationships, and brings patience and a positive energy to their daily work.
