  • Strong subject knowledge: Proficient in English language concepts and able to effectively teach reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Strong background in English literature: Must have excellent knowledge of English literature and be a graduate with a degree in a literature-related field.
  • Caring and patient: Must enjoy working with young students and be committed to their academic and personal growth.
  • Class management skills: Strong classroom management skills are essential to create a productive learning environment in small group settings.
  • Personalized instruction: Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit the learning needs of different students and offer customized tutoring.
  • Team player: Willing to collaborate with other teachers and staff, and be flexible to assist with additional teaching responsibilities as needed.
  • Adaptability: Capable of adjusting to new teaching methods, learning tools, and evolving educational requirements.
  • Must have strong communication skills to effectively engage with students and parents.
  • Ability to foster a positive, motivating, and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and student evaluation methodology
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferre
Responsibilities
  • Deliver interactive one-on-one and small-group lessons for students in Grades 1–8, covering English, Math, Science, and other core subjects.
  • Create customized lesson plans that reflect each student’s learning style, pace, and academic goals.
  • Apply student-centered teaching strategies to enhance language development and build confidence.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive, timely feedback to support ongoing progress.
  • Maintain a supportive and motivating learning environment that encourages active participation and academic success.
