REWARDING OPPORTUNITY: SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT (FOCUS ON SOCIAL & COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT) – SEPTEMBER START

Location: Hinckley
School Type: SEN Primary School
Salary: £480 - £520 per week (term-time only)
Start Date: September
Job Type: Full-Time
Are you a graduate who loves working with children and wants to make a real difference in the lives of young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
This is your opportunity to support primary-aged children in developing key social and cognitive skills during their vital early years of education.
Why Join Us?
Our specialist SEN primary school provides a nurturing, structured environment for children with a range of complex needs including communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and developmental delays.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support children’s emotional well-being, help them build trusting relationships, and assist them in becoming confident, curious learners.
Your Role:

Join a dedicated team where your support is key to each child’s progress. You’ll:

  • Support Early Cognitive Development: Help pupils build attention, memory, language, and problem-solving skills through creative and play-based learning.
  • Promote Social Interaction: Guide children in turn-taking, sharing, emotional regulation, and building friendships in both structured and free play settings.
  • Tailor Support: Adapt lessons and resources in line with each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), ensuring they feel safe, seen, and supported.
  • Work as a Team: Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, therapists, and families to create a consistent and nurturing learning experience.
  • Learn & Grow: Access specialist training in areas like autism support, sensory strategies, and emotional literacy.
