PRE- PREP (KS1) OR PREP (KS2) CLASS TEACHER

The role involves teaching a range of subjects as expected of a Primary trained teacher although some subjects may be taught by specialist teachers (PE & Games, Art, Music, Science, Outdoor Education, and Drama).

SUBJECT LEADERSHIP

  • Acting as the subject leader for a curriculum area.
  • Fulfilling all aspects of the separate subject leader job description

FURTHER TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Reflecting on your own teaching practice and pedagogy and being proactive in making any improvements.
  • Proactively seeking and willingly participating in continuing professional development.
  • Undertaking such training as may be reasonably required by the School to enable you to adapt to the changing requirements of the School and your role or as may be necessary to fulfil the School’s statutory or regulatory obligations.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

Qualified teacher status - Essential
Successful primary teaching experience - Essential

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of the National Curriculum - Essential
Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies - Essential
A good understanding of how children learn – Essential
Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ need - Essential
Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children - Essential

Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils - Essential
