Description

Join a growing Catholic college community where learning, relationships and belonging are at the heart of each day. St Marcellin Catholic College is seeking a Primary Teacher to help shape the learning and culture of our Junior School.

Our teachers bring our motto, Strong Minds and Gentle Hearts, to life. They build community, model compassion and humility, and create purposeful learning experiences that help every student grow academically and socially.

The opportunity

You will design engaging, student-centred learning that responds to students’ strengths and needs. Across the Junior School, teachers use inquiry-based pedagogy while building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and core skills.

You will plan and assess in line with the SCSA Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline and the WA Religious Education Curriculum. You will also keep ongoing assessment records, differentiate learning, and work in partnership with parents and carers to support each child’s learning and wellbeing.

What you’ll bring

  • A willingness to support the Catholic ethos and the Marist vision and values of the College.
  • A commitment to restorative practice, with a just, kind and forgiving approach to correction.
  • Warmth, compassion, patience and the ability to build strong relationships and community.
  • Experience as a Primary teacher, ideally in an inquiry-led setting.
  • The ability to know students well and support their academic, social and emotional progress.
  • Resilience, adaptability, excellent communication skills and a strong desire to keep learning.
  • An extra-curricular skill or interest you can contribute to a growing school community.
