The Council on Recovery is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to keep our community healthy, productive and safe by providing services and information to all who may be adversely affected by alcohol, drugs, and related issues.

SUMMARY

Description of position: The Therapist will join a team of clinicians who are passionate about treatment and recovery, who believe in a family-focused and strengths-based approach, and who understand that each person served is worthy of the highest quality of care possible. The Council on Recovery is a leading provider of education, prevention, intervention and treatment in the Greater Houston area. The Therapist will share these qualities and be committed to the same mission.
The Primary Therapist will support clinical services within our Adult Program, Adolescent Program, or both, depending on experience and organizational need. This role offers the opportunity to provide outpatient treatment services, including individual and group psychotherapy, while utilizing a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address substance use and co-occurring disorders. With services tailored to the unique needs of each client and family, we are seeking a dynamic clinician who is eager to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully to our mission and respond to the needs of our community.

Requirements:

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy required
  • Current licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC Associate, or LPC; LCSW-S or LPC-S preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the fields of substance use and/or mental health, working with adult or adolescent populations
  • Strong knowledge of psychosocial issues, family systems, interpersonal dynamics, community resources, and the treatment planning process
  • Experience conducting diagnostic assessments, facilitating psychoeducational and therapeutic process groups, and providing individual and group therapy
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
