Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Under supervision of the Admit Worker Manager of designee, incumbent is responsible for scheduling patients for Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures. Assures all necessary paperwork is completed and forwarded to appropriate departments. Assists in determining if the patient's source of funding covers proposed surgery/procedure and inquires about expiration dates. Determines that physician documentation reflects need for proposed surgery/procedure. Coordinates procedure date and time based on physician, staff, room and anesthesiologist availability/schedule. Communicates effectively with patients in order to obtain demographic and financial data. Provides accurate wait time estimates when available. Acts as a liaison between admissions, other departments and IR. Notifies departments, services, physicians and the patient if procedure date/time is rescheduled and updates all as necessary. Responsible for inputting demographic and financial data into the SMS System following basic computer flows and codes.
