Our mission is to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses by ensuring workplaces comply with health and safety laws. We achieve this through a mix of responsive and proactive programs targeting high-risk areas across all industries, aligned with our strategic plan and regulatory priorities. SafeWork NSW is currently recruiting Principal Advisor’s to support the Executive Directors in the following groups: Strategic and Corporate Services (Sydney based) Regulatory Capability and Harm Prevention (Parramatta or Sydney based) Operations and Enforcement (Parramatta, Sydney or Gosford based) These groups play a critical role in driving organisational performance, regulatory excellence and workplace safety outcomes across NSW. Strategic and Corporate Services provides leadership across policy, governance, all corporate service functions (including HR, communications, Finance etc.) systems, and strategy. They provide strategic leadership, support strong frameworks, data-informed decision-making, and a focus on organisational excellence. Regulatory Capability and Harm Prevention focuses on the delivery of specialised programs, testing services and expertise across industry. Its range of services include regulatory services, triage, licencing, authorisations and provision of various speciality programs and expertise dedicated to support the inspectorate and improve physical and psychological health and safety within workplaces. Operations and Enforcement takes a strategic approach to improving safety, health and productivity across NSW industries through the SafeWork inspectorate response to incidents and service requests, and investigations, together with proactive stakeholder engagement, evidence and risk based harm prevention initiatives. About the role: The Principal Advisor is a pivotal role, responsible for providing high level strategic support to senior leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of organisational and government priorities. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Lead and manage executive stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment to strategic priorities Oversee the delivery of key initiatives across a diverse portfolio, ensuring high quality outcomes and a positive employee experience Provide expert, evidence-based advice on complex and emerging issues, supporting informed executive decision making Establish and maintain robust governance, reporting, and data analysis frameworks to enable timely, insights driven outcomes Translate complex data and performance metrics into compelling narratives and reports for executive audiences Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing processes, delivery plans, and organisational practices Act as a central point of contact for executive communications, coordinating responses and ensuring deadlines and standards are met Proactively identify and manage risks, providing effective solutions to minimise organisational impact To learn more about the role, please click here to download the role description. About You: You are a confident and influential professional with demonstrated experience operating in complex environments and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
