Description:
We are looking for a Senior/Data Lead, Individual Contributor with marketplace/e-commerce experience (as a big advantage), but experience from any complex digital industry such as gaming or applications (a lot of user data & events, high pace, need to make fast decisions) is welcomed.
If you have a proven track record of overcoming diverse analytical challenges, delivering practical business impact and high value added you should apply for the Principal Analyst/Data Lead role.
You’ll spend time on the following:
Conducting deep dives into business and tech-related issues across all areas of the company: understanding the problem, talking to people, formulating hypotheses, structuring analysis, gathering data, performing analyses, deriving insights, and most importantly, formulating specific proposals for changes in our Product and/or Business.
What We Expect:
At least 6-8 years of experience as an Analyst/Data Lead, gained in e-commerce, gaming or other fast paced work environment, able to collaborate with the business across all teams and regions
- You are technical: you are able to work with different primary databases and get data (for most use cases SQL and it’s different versions will be sufficient - e.g., Teradata, Hive, Keboola, BigQuery, etc.). We have teams to support you, but the goal is that you will be as independent as possible
- You have strong business acumen: you can sense how different issues translate into customer experience on both the consumer and merchant sides and how they impact our business
- You are creative: Out-of-the-box thinking and problem solving - don’t expect we will give you these ideas every time, you need to generate them; going through customer support issues and tickets and discovering issues related to the problem that is being solved ; going into detail, understanding UX, how deals are set up, and verifying observations with data; watching recorded sessions, taking the cookie of a user, and understanding what events it triggered; if needed picking up the phone and calling merchants, consumers, competitors to understand experiences/benchmarks; looking at competitors to prevent reinventing the wheel and making a million mistakes along the way; ability to go into very granular data, such as verifying if impressions are tracked correctly by drilling down to event-level details
- You thrive at getting your point across: articulate complex analyses clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, using storytelling and engaging visualizations; present findings in a coherent and concise manner, tailored to the audience, and provide regular updates; translate analytical insights into specific, practical proposals for changes in business processes or product features
- You are structured and able to cooperate through efficient task-management: ability to zoom-in and zoom-out, so we are going into details but don’t get lost in them. Kill dead-end streams; you will have access to other analysts and technical people in the organization and the power to delegate and create assignments for them
- You absorb information quickly: our systems, databases and processes are complicated, there will be many obstacles along the way. You need to be able to absorb information quickly and have a steep learning curve. Connect the dots between various pieces of information
- You will raise the bar: part of your mission will be to act as a role model for other analysts in the company, help them grow and level up our analytical game
- You are practical and biased for action: you are a great analyst, but this is not for academic types. We need practitioners who value speed and getting things done over perfection
- You use AI: if you don’t use it in 2024, don’t even apply
✅ What You Should Know:
- This is a hardcore, love-it-or-hate-it kind of job in a highly challenging, but respectful environment
- Requires working with people across different time zones (from the US to India)
- Ability to work and deliver under pressure
- Direct interaction with the most demanding
