Description
Performs Systems Engineering activities including: Concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA) . Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications. Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. SCOPE: Support and/or lead special projects as assigned by National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Operations Squadron (NOPS) leadership team. Provide integration and engineering support tasks to include: Monitor developments in the launch and aerospace industry that will afford opportunities for ground antenna network architectures. Perform ground antenna network architecture analyses and risk assessments; make recommendations on improvement or mitigation options. Assess new capabilities for technical performance, security, and cost suitability; make recommendations for implementation. Interact with Satellite Control Network (SCN) and United States Space Force (USSF) stakeholders to convey requirements and establish capability to support future SCN advanced capabilities from NOPS. Develop and vet requirements to drive material solutions; track procurement and project status. Engage stakeholders across NRO Enterprise and mission partners to formulate implementation strategies. Prepare briefings, memoranda, agreements and other documentation for NRO leadership decision making. Provide engineering support to the initial phases of integrating new or experimental network architectures including technical support to the selection of a specific architecture and the initial plan for the overall integration process, as directed. This activity may include support to Source Selections and Independent Program Assessment teams. Integrate efforts of diverse offices and skill sets to deliver mission capabilities. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, math, or comparable technical experience. 10+ years experience and must possess a working knowledge of the Space Force Satellite Control Network and Satellite Control Network-like Antenna Architectures. Applicant must possess excellent written and communication skills. Must have a TS/SCI/poly.
