THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Principal Applied Scientist at Zalando Lounge, you will foster data-driven decision-making by designing and analyzing complex A/B tests and serve as an in-house expert on causal inference and statistical modelling. You will influence development in key areas of our business, such as Pricing. Together with fellow economists on our team, you will represent our business unit in long-term company-wide research efforts that directly impact company strategy and product development.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Creating long term research roadmaps addressing wide business goals.
• Designing and carrying out experiments to address business questions, and coaching others to do so. For example, evaluate a new pricing algorithm through A/B testing.
• Keeping the team up-to-date with the latest research on experimentation.
• Collaborating with other applied scientists, product managers, software developers, data engineers, data analysts and commercial stakeholders.
• Providing egoless constructive scientific feedback to peers and coaching junior colleagues to become great researchers.
