Our Principal Architects play a critical role in shaping the technical direction and architectural standards for Cvent’s platforms and applications. This position involves advanced technical leadership, hands-on architecture, and cross-team influence, as they collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions, while driving modernization and adoption of best-in-class technologies.
In This Role, You Will::
- Lead the design, development, and debugging of scalable, high-performance, service-based web applications.
- Architect and enhance frameworks and platforms, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for modernization initiatives, including migration to modern frameworks, decoupling legacy systems, and implementing central package management.
- Drive performance optimization, technical debt reduction, and risk mitigation across multiple teams.
- Evaluate, prototype, and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools for adoption.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across engineering teams.
- Conduct performance testing using profilers and load-testing tools; identify and resolve application security vulnerabilities.
- Mentor senior engineers and architects, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on enterprise-wide initiatives such as system modernization, performance testing, and strategic project reviews.
Here’s What You Need::
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture and development, with a focus on large-scale, distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in modern software development frameworks and languages (e.g., .NET Core, Java, Node.js, Python, C#).
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront), serverless architectures, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch).
- Experience with open source technologies, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, deployment).
- Strong understanding of application security, compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring and developing technical talent.
- Experience architecting SaaS platforms or large-scale web applications.

- Familiarity with secure asset management, content delivery solutions, and regulated environments.
