Job Description Overview This position is open for our Manchester or Leeds offices. As an already experienced geo-environmental consultant, you will have led and delivered contaminated land and water related project tasks in the UK and/or internationally. You will work closely with our technical specialists who are based in our established teams across the UK. We have a friendly and approachable team with a strong reputation for delivering excellence with multiple clients. Your role You will work with our contaminated land and hydrogeological technical leads and other technical disciplines in winning, delivering and managing our portfolio of geo-environmental projects and developing trusted client relationships. Project management and technical delivery of a wide variety of contaminated land focused projects, including the management of finances, programme delivery and technically reviewing others’ work. You will champion high standards of performance, and influence project development. As an experienced consultant you will have the technical knowledge and project/bid skills to undertake work assigned to you to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and quality. Liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, sub-contractors and other internal disciplines. Collaborative and supportive teamwork is vital to our success, and you will work closely with the rest of the SL&RM team sometimes delegating to, reviewing the work of and mentoring more junior staff. You will also work collaboratively with other technical disciplines in the SL&RM team and beyond, delivering a range of projects relating to groundwater and contaminated land. About you Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, geography, hydrogeology, chemistry, earth sciences, environmental science). Post graduate qualification also desirable. Chartership with a relevant professional body. Relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment), with a track record in delivering work on-time, on budget and to quality and client expectations. Technical leadership and delivery of Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations, remediation design and verification / validation for a range of projects and clients. Good working knowledge and demonstrable understanding of the relevant legislation, technical guidance, industry standards and best practice for contaminated land, materials management and waste. Good commercial understanding of geoenvironmental aspects of projects and proven experience of winning work.
