Principal Civil Engineer – Water, Drainage & Infrastructure
Geoporte is seeking a highly experienced and well-connected Principal Civil Engineer to lead our stormwater, integrated water, and flood management services in Victoria or NSW.
This is a leadership role that blends technical excellence with business development, ideal for someone with a proven track record of delivering projects and securing work from local councils, catchment management authorities, and other state or federal stakeholders.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of experience in water infrastructure projects
  • Deep understanding of Victorian and NSW’s planning, water, and environmental regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated success in winning and delivering council and water authority projects in Victoria and/or NSW
  • Strong experience leading WSUD, IWM and coordination of modelling tasks
  • Skilled in tools such as TUFLOW, eWater MUSIC, RORB, Civil 3D, and/or 12d
  • CPEng and RPEV preferred
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will lead Geoporte’s water infrastructure business development and project delivery in Victoria and/or NSW — combining strategic business development with the delivery of robust stormwater, drainage, and flood resilience projects. You will shape solutions, mentor the team, and act as the technical lead for integrated water planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead stormwater drainage design, WSUD, and integrated water management strategies
  • Provide technical leadership on drainage design, including review and guidance on 1D/2D hydraulic modelling outputs (e.g., TUFLOW, HEC-RAS), supported by specialist modelers
  • Engage with councils and water authorities to identify, win, and deliver new projects
  • Mentor a growing team of engineers and collaborate across disciplines
  • Contribute to proposals, submissions, and strategic growth planning
