Description:

Working with one of BakerHicks’ key clients in the nuclear sector, working in a highly regulated environment, subject to strict security and safety requirements, this client provides customers with engineering and project management services, as well as digital services and solutions to optimise the performance of complex infrastructure projects throughout their life cycle.
You will join this client team as a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer (Marine Specialist), working onsite with their end client overseeing the design and implementation of Marine and Catermaran for a critical Client work package. Your work will involve the replacement and refurbishment of plant and equipment to meet modern standards.
This role is a 12 month+ contract and will require 2/3 days onsite (every 2 weeks) at the end client facilities at Faslane.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead a multi-discipline engineering team driving collaborative efforts to deliver top-notch solutions.
  • Overseeing consultants and contractors to ensure project success.
  • Shape project requirements and perform assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with BIM/CAD teams: Ensure designs meet project and stakeholder needs.
  • Review and accept project documentation: Maintain high standards in project drawings and documentation.
  • Supervise construction activities: Ensure compliance with design intent during project execution.
  • Chair meetings and design reviews: Lead discussions to drive project milestones.
  • Provide technical supervision: Oversee commissioning and decommissioning, ensuring all safety and quality standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders and team members.
  • Uphold Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standards throughout the project.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST CURRENTLY HOLD SC SECURITY CLEARANCE FOR THIS ROLE AS REQUIRED BY OUR CLIENT.
