ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a high-ownership partnerships leader to build and scale Plum’s relationships with Public Sector and Life Insurance companies. This role will be responsible for establishing strong insurer partnerships, aligning on shared business goals, and driving growth across multiple product lines. You will operate at the intersection of partnerships, product development, and operations — working closely with insurer teams and Plum’s internal stakeholders to build scalable insurance solutions. The role requires strong stakeholder management, structured problem-solving, and the ability to drive outcomes quickly while protecting and strengthening key partnerships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Build and scale Plum’s partnerships with PSU and Life insurers, developing strong relationships across underwriting, product, operations, and leadership teams. * Identify and drive opportunities to grow business with insurer partners by aligning on joint objectives, portfolio strategy, and long-term partnership goals. * Co-create and scale new insurance products and product lines in collaboration with insurer partners and Plum’s internal teams, ensuring they align with business objectives and market demand. * Own the partnership governance rhythm — including monthly / bi-monthly operational and strategic reviews with each insurer partner. * Act as the primary escalation point for operational, underwriting, or servicing issues, ensuring swift resolution while maintaining strong partner trust. * Drive operational excellence by identifying recurring issues across placements, servicing, claims, or renewals and working with internal teams and insurers to solve them. * Strengthen Plum’s positioning with PSU insurers by ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and consistent delivery on commitments. * Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Plum’s sales, operations, underwriting, and product teams to deliver seamless execution with insurer partners. * Track and report partnership health metrics, escalation trends, and key risks to leadership to proactively manage relationships. QUALIFICATIONS * 7–8 years of experience in employee benefits / group insurance / life insurance partnerships, placements, underwriting, or broker relationship management. * Understanding of group insurance products and insurer operating models, particularly across PSU and Life insurers, is preferred. * Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and drive issue resolution across multiple teams. * Strong structured problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. * Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders within insurer organizations. * High ownership mindset with the ability to balance speed of execution with long-term relationship building.
