Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role suits an experienced and dynamic senior officer who is strategic and a creative thinker and enjoys leading an experienced team in a sensitive and complex environment. The role also requires dealing with material that can be challenging and distressing and will best suit a candidate who is resilient and empathetic.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Conducting objective, and accurate assessments of applications to the schemes in accordance with the schemes’ instrument of delegations, key parameters and Assessment Guidelines.
  • Providing advice, strategic direction and mentoring to staff undertaking case management work to ensure consistent and integrated practices to account for individual experience.
  • Overseeing and facilitating effective participant access to counselling, wellbeing, and other appropriate therapeutic services through embedded practices to build safety and trust for the participant.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to understand and apply complex regulatory, compliance and authorisation frameworks relevant to the organisation’s operations.
  • Significant leadership and staff management experience, preferably in a service delivery context.
  • Strong conceptual skills with the ability to analyse complex policy and legal issues, interpret legislation and provide accurate and strategic advice across a range of areas relevant to the schemes
