Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

As a Principal Data Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in operationalizing the most-urgent data and analytics initiatives for National Grid digital business initiatives. The bulk of the activities would be in supporting and optimizing data pipelines, managing large finance transformation programs, and supporting the customer initiatives.   • Planning, designing, developing, and maintaining the data architecture and standards for various Data Integration projects.
  • Ensure new features and subject areas are modelled to integrate with existing structures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of the data integration patterns, data flows, data standards, data architecture.
  • Provide direction on adoption of modern cloud technologies (i.e., Snowflake) and adopt industry best practices.
  • Play key role in selecting enterprise data tools.
  • Keen eye to deliver project deliverables that are concerned with architecture, security, and integration features.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Review the architectural/ technological solutions for ongoing projects and ensure the right choice of solution.
  • Work closely with IT Domain and Business units to capture requirements, identify pain areas, and propose an ideal solution.
  • Design, implement, and document data architecture, which includes the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases.
  • Guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements while creating, improving, and operationalizing these integrated data approaches.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in building trust in the data being used for decision making.
  • Prepare architectural standards, guardrails, and best practices related to Data Integration / architecture.
  • Consult about current / future industry trends and technology needs.
