Principal Developer (Full Stack) Full-Time (35hpw) Temporary opportunity up to January 2027 Salary Range $149,739 - $173,174pa + super Parramatta location with hybrid working About the team Payroll Tax Digital is an ongoing software product squad in Revenue NSW which maintains, enhances and builds new software products to support business functions. It is cross functional in composition with software developers, BAs, QAs, Designers and a Product Owner working in an agile manner to deliver value for its customers. The Principal Developer role will act as a technical lead for all the developers in the squad and will work with the Principal Product Owner in designing, architecting, building and supporting new software services/ applications/ enhancements. To do this, we are looking for experienced full-stack, AWS skilled principal developers who have demonstrated experience working on complex software products. Fullstack, cloud skills and experience required: Extensive experience in developing microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot. Strong knowledge and experience in AWS cloud computing. Preferred certifications in cloud platforms, demonstrating proficiency in leveraging cloud technologies to architect and deploy scalable, resilient, and secure solutions. Hands on expertise with Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform. Expertise in micro service and Java design patterns. Hands on web front-end experience with React Proficiency in cloud-native development practices including serverless computing, containers, and Kubernetes orchestration. Expertise in relational databases RDBMS and NoSQL databases. Expert experience developing within agile methodology using CI/CD pipelines such as Gitlab Working knowledge of security best practices. Expert proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Strong experience with React.js, including building reusable components using Storybook. Skilled in state management using Redux, Context API, and server state with React Query. Proficient in Styled Components, responsive/adaptive design, and UI libraries like Material UI and Ant Design. Experienced in integrating RESTful APIs with Axios, including handling authentication and error states. Strong testing skills with Jest, React Testing Library, and effective mocking strategies. Hands-on experience deploying front-end applications on AWS (S3, CloudFront, Cognito, API Gateway). In-depth understanding of web accessibility (WCAG), cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization. Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket). Solid knowledge of front-end build tools and browser debugging techniques. Experience of working on a complex IT landscape.
