At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Dublin office. Here’s what you’ll do: AECOM is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Dublin team. This senior role will lead the delivery of complex, high-profile projects across the residential, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving technical excellence, providing strategic leadership, mentoring team members, and supporting the continued growth of our electrical engineering practice in Ireland. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical delivery of projects or major work packages, ensuring high-quality and innovative outcomes. Take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from interpreting client briefs through to detailed design and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Provide leadership and direction to engineers and technicians, ensuring outputs meet programme, budget, and quality expectations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. Ensure all designs and deliverables comply with relevant health and safety regulations and company quality assurance standards. Mentor, support, and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Qualifications Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? We are seeking a driven and experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Ireland. This is a senior leadership role suited to a professional with a strong background in electrical building services and infrastructure design. As the successful candidate, you will have: A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) with a recognised professional body such as Engineers Ireland or IET. Proven experience delivering electrical engineering projects, including leading technical design and coordinating across multidisciplinary teams. Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing engineers and technicians to achieve project deadlines and quality standards. Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders and build lasting professional relationships. In-depth knowledge of relevant electrical design standards, health and safety regulations, and quality assurance processes. Experience mentoring and developing junior team members. Proficiency in industry-standard electrical design and analysis software. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
