OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Principal Mobile Device Development Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision and a passion for innovation in the wireless telecom space. This role goes beyond traditional engineering, it is about driving outcomes, influencing direction, and shaping the future of our wireless device initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Android and iOS-based devices (phones, tablets, wearables) and a strong foundation in wireless technologies, including LTE, 5G, WiFi, and Bluetooth. This role requires an individual who can seamlessly connect technical depth with business impact while collaborating with engineering, product, and vendor teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years in product development, requirements management, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of wireless standards: CDMA, LTE, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3GPP, PTCRB, GCF.
• Proficiency in network and device log analysis (QXDM, Wireshark, IP packet captures).
• Experience with lab test equipment (emulators, shield chambers).
• Solid understanding of networking protocols: TCP/UDP, IP, DHCP, DNS.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, scripting languages, and tools like JIRA/Confluence.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent collaboration, coordination, and communication skills.

• Lead technical engagements with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into actionable and scalable technical solutions.
• Present and defend architectural and design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Research and evaluate emerging wireless technologies, standards, and industry trends.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams to achieve strategic objectives.
• Author and review technical documentation, evaluation reports, and formal recommendations.
