CLOUD AUTOMATION, GOVERNANCE AND ENGINEERING (CAGE)- PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

The Principal Engineer-Automation role will possess effective interpersonal soft skills, thought leadership and team growth providing engineering and architecture support for complex system management activities related to network segmentation, cloud services, performance, problem determination or resource management requiring communication and coordination with vendors, technicians, clients, and management. Provide technical input to management decision making in the areas of software, services, and performance.
This role will coach and provide technical expertise to members of the core cloud team and development teams who are leveraging tooling. This role will be expected to embed within development teams to coach and up-skill on pipeline creation, Terraform best practices and usage of standard modules. Facilitate collaboration across key functions including security, networking, enterprise architecture, and automation. Actively seek and research new technologies, emerging trends and best practices that will assist with the development process and enable the core cloud team to innovate. Contribute to and facilitate trainings for the enterprise to build core cloud skills.
Provide knowledge of AWS, Azure and GCP implementations including but not limited to:
Multiple IT control and Agile project management practices working across large environments.
Public cloud based solutions and application program interfaces (APIs).
Working ability in Automation and Orchestration frameworks,
Develop Infrastructure as Code Modules using Automation tooling – (Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Python).
Dev/Sec/Ops tooling (Pipelines, AzureDevops, Github Actions, Jenkins etc)
Kubernetes (EKS, Fargate, ECS, Openshift)
Strong Network & Firewall troubleshooting and Cloud Networking Design and implementation ability.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering or in a Technology related field, OR equivalent through a combination of education and/or technology experience, OR 12 years of technology experience
  • 7 years of experience identifying technical solutions for complex business problems, identifying the benefits and risks of the solutions and providing recommendations
  • 6 years of Technology experience
  • 5 years of experience mentoring another technologist
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Must have indefinite employment authorization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Automation and Orchestration frameworks
  • Advanced working ability in Automation and Orchestration frameworks
  • Automation tooling – Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Python)
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure automation, instrumentation, and full stack technologies
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification, preferred/ Terraform Associate Certification, preferred
    WORK BEST CATEGORY:Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
