WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Toyota’s Carbon Neutrality and Regulatory Affairs Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Principal Engineer, Crash Avoidance and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
The primary responsibility of this role is to represent the company’s positions related to crash avoidance, vehicle communications and alternative fuel vehicle-related safety topics with outside organizations, such as the USDOT/NHTSA, FCC, ITS-America, AutoInnovators, NFPA, etc.
Reporting to the General Manager, the person in this role will support the Safety Regulation and Research department’s objective to provide insight into the regulatory and governmental policy direction on safety issues.
This position is based at our office in Washington, DC. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and manage company positions on Federal regulations.
  • Develop and represent company policy positions with government (Federal & State), NGOs, and other interested parties.
  • Analyze and provide insight and guidance on potential future regulatory direction.
  • Monitor activities in the US States and lead the company in policy development on crash avoidance, vehicle communications, and alternative-fuel safety-related topics.
  • Develop relationships with outside organizations on areas of responsibility for this position.
