POSITION SUMMARY

PRVN Consultants, Inc. is looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer with 13+ years’
experience. As an [Principal Engineer I (Mechanical)] [Principal Engineer I (Chemical)] or
[Principal Engineer II (Mechanical)] [Principal Engineer II (Chemical)] in our [Iowa City,
IA] [Lafayette, IN] [Rock Island, IL] office, you will help us deliver energy efficient and
sustainable solutions to the complex energy challenges faced by our institutional, utility, and
industrial clients.
In this role, you will be a senior-level engineer who is responsible for leading and managing
major projects related to mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering. Role involves
overseeing the design and development of energy systems and ensuring that they meet the
requirements of clients and industry standards. This role also provides technical assistance and
guidance as well as quality control/quality assurance reviews for junior level engineers and
peers. Projects include steam turbine, steam and hot water boiler, power generation, combined
heat and power, central chilled water and standby generation plants, campus-type utility
distribution systems, industrial/process facilities, industrial HVAC, and more.
Our PRoVeN design team consists of professional individuals in a high-energy workplace at a
growing company. A self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills will excel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities include leading and managing multi-discipline project teams, being the Engineer
of Record for discipline on projects, overseeing and training junior staff and designers,
collaborating with professionals, other engineers, planners, and infrastructure authorities, and
leading proposal and business development opportunities.
Background requirements include an engineering degree of four years or more that is accredited
by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (EAC/ABET) in [mechanical]
[chemical] engineering or closely related discipline, 13+ years’ experience, and advanced
knowledge of the application of engineering science and technology to our projects. Proficient in
project management techniques and strategies for the executing of complex technical design
projects.
In addition, candidates must possess good communication and organizational skills and have
passed the Principals and Practice of Engineering (PE) and become a licensed professional
engineer in at least one State having fulfilled all prerequisites and registrations.
