Role Overview: In this role you will lead Beehive’s metallurgical laboratory and its equipment. You will partner with material engineers to develop, manage, and support the 3D printing processes throughout the enterprise in the development and production of aerospace and defense applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a world-class AM team in a company that offers stability and growth. Responsibilities: Metallurgical sample preparation, imaging, measurement, analysis and reporting for the metallurgical laboratory Support the development of internal standards for materials produced by AM processes Schedule workflow across metallurgical laboratory equipment and report performance metrics Manage development programs contributing to improved materials for AM Responsibility for metallurgical laboratory equipment, calibration records, overall cleanliness of the laboratory Support/lead projects for parameter, heat treatment, material property development and continuous improvement Mentor peers in the relevant areas of expertise; provide trainings when needed Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering, or industry experience commensurate with job responsibilities 12+ years of metallurgical experience in industry or research labs Hands on experience with metals characterization techniques, including optical microscopy, SEM, and chemical analysis The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance Preferred Qualifications: Materials science and engineering knowledge Experience in metal additive manufacturing technologies Experience with additive material post processing including heat treatment and surface finishing Experience with troubleshooting and improving processes Experience with metallographic image analysis techniques and automation Data analytics experience If this sounds like you, please submit an application with your resume.
