Job title: Principal Engineer – PLM Structural Information & Systems
Location: Scotstoun, Portsmouth, Filton, UK wide. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £ 60,000 (depending on skills and experience)

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential:

  • Proven PLM experience in a highly complex product design/build engineering environment with CAD (Foran) and PDM (Windchill) experience in the Structural Information & Systems discipline
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders for successful realisation of PLM objectives
  • Proven ability to develop relationships to ensure successful agreement and implementation of stakeholder requirements
  • Experience within ship building sector

Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements elicitation, process definition and configuration of the Product Lifecycle Management capability
  • Lead and coordinate testing and acceptance of the Product Lifecycle Management capability
  • Lead the implementation, including education, of the Product Lifecycle Management capability
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure the success utilisation of the PLM approach
  • Execution of data management for the project through life, interfacing with stakeholders including the IM&T function
  • Assist in delivery of an approach to the through life digital thread, including co-ordination of the process across the various stakeholders and toolsets (e.g. CAD to PDM to ERP)
  • Major contributor to the strategic view of PLM, specifically to determine an evolution path (e.g. identifying and incorporating IT developments from elsewhere); potential need for/benefit of future upgrades; and identification and delivery of PLM solutions to emergent requirements from business
