The Effector RF Design Department is seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as the RF Tech Lead for a critical program that is essential to our national defense. As the RF Tech Lead for Advanced Common Products (ACP), you will provide technical oversight and direction for RF subsystems within the ACP Ultra portfolio. In this role, you will monitor factory operations for RF-related issues, collaborate with RF SMEs, REAs, and suppliers to resolve production roadblocks, and address obsolescence and producibility challenges. Your leadership will guide RF design activities across the ACP portfolio, ensuring seamless integration and optimal system performance throughout the product lifecycle. This is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ. What You Will Do Provide technical oversight and leadership for an interdisciplinary team developing an RF subsystem and its component CCAs. Act as the technical interface between individual contributors and program leadership. Work in a factory lab setting to test and troubleshoot circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and their next higher assemblies. Mentor design engineers and production engineers to foster technical growth. Travel as required to oversee supplier activities and ensure program success. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following: RF circuit card design and fabrication. RF subassembly test and troubleshooting. Simulation of RF products. Experience with any combination of the following tools: Mentor DX Designer or equivalent. High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) or equivalent. SystemVue/Genesys or equivalent. Advanced Design System (ADS) or equivalent. Qualifications We Prefer Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related engineering discipline. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing technical documentation. Prior experience as a technical leader of RF hardware design activities. Responsibility for cost and schedule performance reporting. Experience in mentorship or apprenticeship roles. Proficiency in architecting and defining requirements for complex RF products. Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis. Experience with missile radar systems or similar technologies. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Knowledge of mixed signal electronics and practical experience across all phases of the product development lifecycle. Expertise in design and testing of areas such as: Broadband/superheterodyne receiver design. Cascade analysis. Automatic gain control (AGC) scheduling. Filter design and fabrication.
