You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.   We are seeking an accomplished Principal Engineering Geologist to join our Brisbane office, playing a key role within our Earth & Environment business and working alongside a highly regarded team of Geotechnical and Tunnelling specialists. This is a senior leadership role for a recognised technical expert who thrives on solving complex ground-related challenges, shaping best practice, and mentoring the next generation of specialists. What you will do At Principal level, your focus will extend well beyond delivery, encompassing technical leadership, risk management, mentoring and client confidence. You will: * Lead and provide expert technical advice on complex engineering geological and geotechnical problems * Develop and review engineering geological ground models for major projects * Lead terrain assessment, mapping and remote sensing / aerial imagery interpretation * Undertake and peer review landslide risk and slope stability assessments * Provide specialist input into the analysis, design and specification of soil and rock slope stabilisation systems * Identify, manage and mitigate geotechnical and geological risk on substantial projects * Prepare, review and sign off complex technical reports and deliverables in line with delegated authorities * Provide technical assurance and quality leadership across engineering geology deliverables * Mentor, coach and technically develop geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists * Guide multi-disciplinary teams and manage input across multiple projects of varying scale and complexity * Demonstrate strong HSE leadership, embedding safe, ethical and sustainable practices in all activities   What we will love about you You’re a senior professional with depth, credibility and judgement; someone others seek out for guidance on complex ground conditions. You will have: * A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or a related discipline * Postgraduate qualifications (MSc or equivalent) in Engineering Geology advantageous * At least 15 years’ experience in consulting, delivering complex engineering geology projects * Chartered Engineering Geologist / Chartered Engineer status * Active membership of a recognised professional body * A proven track record providing key technical leadership on high-profile projects * Strong experience in reviewing and authorising complex reports under Delegated Authority * The ability to balance technical excellence, innovation, risk and commercial delivery * Well-developed communication skills, with confidence engaging clients and internal stakeholders * A mentoring mindset, with a genuine commitment to developing others * Resilience and professionalism, with the ability to lead calmly under pressure   Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
