KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of financial industry related architecture capabilities and data management practices
  • Experience building enterprise architecture designs and aligning IT Components to business applications
  • Ability to translate need for business capabilities into the technical components that will support them

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Greater than 10 years in related function required
  • 3-5 years leading through mentorship in related field required
  • 3-5 years leading projects and initiatives through influence required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate Degree or High School Equivalent plus 2 additional years of related experience required
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Governance, Information Security or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a senior domain architect or senior enterprise architect

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Working Knowledge or Experience with BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network)
  • Advanced understanding of Domain Driven Design and Microservices
  • Experience with Technical Portfolio Management or Application Portfolio Management

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Principal Enterprise Architect, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, to work with the IT team, Product teams, as well as senior executives to drive the design of our enterprise domain taxonomy. As an enterprise architect, you will be required to represent deep expertise on modernization and transformation of mission critical applications facilitated by aligning these applications to their core business domains. The ideal candidate will champion business and technology alignment of core capabilities ensuring the buildout of an enterprise taxonomy framework which will underpin domain roadmaps and technology transformation. We are seeking a candidate who has great breadth and depth of experience when it comes to developing business relationships and ensuring technology alignment.

  • Create a universal taxonomy organizing business capabilities and aligning IT deliverables
  • Lead the initiative to collaborate with architecture, product, and data engineering experts on a day-to-day basis, and drive consensus for a common enterprise taxonomy
  • Define strategy with respect to enterprise related standards and design goals to automate collection and implementation of a release framework which categorizes deliverable by business domain
  • Responsible for providing templates and models that align business capabilities to applications, data and services
  • Responsible for partnering with ITSM, Application Portfolio Management to ensure Dashboard views of the application Landscape by Domain
  • Liaise with other teams including, but not limited to Business (LOBs), Cloud Platform Services, Security, IT Delivery, Solutions Architects, Data Architects, Domain Architects, Risk, Operations, Corporate Function etc. for coordination on:
  • Ensuring applications and IT components have clear lines of responsibility
  • Clarifying how to Organize Technical Components to identify gaps and duplication
  • Driving Team Alignment with capability and product Deliverables
  • Build Partnerships with Data Architecture and Data Platform Leaders to ensure Enterprise Data Catalogs align to Enterprise Taxonomy
  • Collaborate with the data governance teams to ensure consistency and compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements, and alignment with enterprise taxonomy
  • Lead Change Management efforts to ensure successful adoption and integration of the new taxonomy across GMF
