POSITION SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION

The Project Valuation team provides critical financial analysis and modeling support across the energy business, enabling informed decision-making on pricing, investment returns, and strategic partnerships. We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst with strong technical and analytical skills to join our dynamic and collaborative team.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate project economics, support partnership discussions, and deliver insights that influence high-level commercial decisions. Key Duties:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate project- and portfolio-level returns, including metrics such as IRR, NPV, ROE, and earnings contributions
  • Support the application and refinement of pricing methodologies that drive consistent and scalable financial assessments across varying project configurations
  • Contribute to the evaluation of M&A, JV structures, and first-of-its-kind partnerships, including pricing scenarios and economic sharing mechanisms
  • Collaborate with teams across Origination, Business Development, Legal, and Risk to incorporate relevant commercial and technical inputs into project valuations
  • Prepare and deliver executive-ready financial summaries and presentations to support internal reviews and decision-making processes
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives focused on model standardization, transparency, and operational scalability
  • Support recurring activities including pricing updates, performance tracking, and data-driven reporting
  • Help build and maintain model documentation, QA/QC controls, and valuation procedures to ensure reliability and audit readiness

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of VBA, Python, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working on project finance, energy sector analysis, or pricing-based financial assessments
  • Familiarity with partnership or investment structures involving multiple stakeholders or counterparties

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s - Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or related field
  • Experience: 6+ years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
  • Master’s - Accounting, Finance or Business Admnistration

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in planning and coordinating engagement assignments with Development Group Leaders
  • Reviews and signs off on engagement work products and presentations
  • Presents at executive management vetting meetings
  • Assists in developing and maintaining policies and standards for functional area (QAQC, document retention, model approaches, etc.)
  • Implements Valuation Group’s initiatives, goals and objectives
  • Performs goal setting, evaluation and mentoring of direct reports
  • Promotes staff career development and advancement opportunities
  • Assists in group hiring and training processes
  • Works with third party bankers and consultants on acquisition related diligence as necessary
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
