Principal Financial Systems About the Role We are seeking an experienced Principal Financial Systems Analyst to support financial transparency, investment governance, and operational efficiency across ESE initiatives. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, ESE Org Operations, this role serves as the day-to-day lead for ESE FinOps execution, reporting, investment management, and process optimization. In this role, you will lead the tracking of enterprise investments, spend, and budgets, modernize and automate FinOps processes, and deliver high-quality insights that enable ESE leaders to understand financial performance, risks, and trends. You will operate as a trusted partner to Finance and ESE stakeholders, ensuring financial data is accurate, accessible, and decision-ready. ________________________________________ Responsibilities FinOps Execution & Financial Governance • Lead budget tracking, spend analysis, forecasting, accruals, and capitalization inputs across assigned ESE portfolios and vendors. • Serve as the primary point of contact for financial data accuracy, reconciliation, and audit readiness within ESE FinOps scope. • Perform advanced variance analysis, identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions. Reporting, Insights & Leadership Support • Own monthly and quarterly FinOps reporting for ESE, ensuring consistency, clarity, and executive readiness. • Deliver clear, data-driven insights and narratives to support CIO and ESE leadership reviews. • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights that inform prioritization and decision-making. Process Optimization & Automation • Lead the standardization and automation of FinOps reporting, dashboards, and data workflows. • Identify and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and data quality across FinOps processes. • Drive adoption of self-service dashboards and near–real-time financial visibility for ESE leaders. Cross-Functional Leadership • Act as a lead partner to Finance, Procurement, Accounting, and ESE teams, ensuring alignment across systems and financial cycles. • Support audit, compliance, and governance activities through strong documentation and controls. • Apply FinOps and IT financial management best practices to strengthen financial discipline and transparency across ESE. ________________________________________ Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field. • 8+ years of experience in financial management, investment tracking, budgeting, forecasting, or enterprise reporting roles. • Demonstrated experience operating as a lead individual contributor in complex, cross-functional environments. • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong experience with financial reporting and analysis. • Proven ability to influence stakeholders through data, insight, and expertise. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with enterprise financial or portfolio management platforms (e.g., D365, ServiceNow SPM, Anaplan). • Strong understanding of capex/opex, accruals, and capitalization in a corporate environment. • Experience building or enhancing automated reporting and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau). • Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI DAX, or similar tools. • Exposure to FinOps or IT Financial Management practices.
