We’re looking for a Principal Game Designer to play a key role in bringing a highly acclaimed and industry-recognized AAA franchise’s next title to life. In this role you will be part of a team that puts Gameplay at the heart of the player experience, working closely with peers to develop and iterate on the design and implement the intended vision, giving you the freedom to make creative decisions and bring innovative solutions to the game.   • A strong sense of narrative design principles.
  • Experience with visual scripting and sequencing tools.
  • Experience packaging and demonstrating the intent of concepts, features or gameplay to project leadership.
  • Experience in leading projects as a subject expert and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills to support and share your ideas.
Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility and work alongside leads and directors to define the vision and intentions, while guiding more junior members.
  • Design and document features intentions and systems from the high to low level of detail, for all disciplines to use; Bringing moments and characters to life with detailed breakdowns of content and AI behaviours.
  • Actively contribute to design implementation and engage with multiple groups of expertise to drive gameplay and player experiences to a high-quality bar, receiving feedback from project leadership and spearheading the vision forward and achieving gameplay goals.
  • Be involved in all stages of design and production including but not limited to prototyping, blocking, scripting, tuning and balancing, polish and debugging.
  • Debug and optimize at both low and high levels for peak performance, cohesiveness, clarity, legibility, fluidity, signs and feedback, feel and responsiveness.
  • Evaluate and communicate the impact of changes to ensure smooth project progression. Actively participate in reviews, sharing feedback to elevate overall design quality.
  • Test and refine as well as contribute to discussions to enhance gameplay and the player experience.
