Description

Lead the Geotechnical Revolution as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer at Geoquip Marine in Bristol. At Geoquip, we’re committed to driving humanity towards a lower carbon future, and we need passionate individuals like you to help us achieve our goals.
We are at the forefront of Offshore Geotechnical Site Investigation. We operate throughout the world in collaboration with the global leaders in energy resource management. Our clients comprise the global leaders in offshore energy resource management, from offshore wind to hydrocarbon extraction and carbon sequestration.
As a seasoned Engineer and Leader with significant experience in Geotechnical Engineering / Engineering Geology, and ideally this would be within shallow or deepwater geotechnical environments. You should be chartered or seeking chartership with an appropriate professional body and active in encouraging more junior team members to do the same.
You should have demonstrable experience in the planning, supervision and reporting of complex site investigations and soil characterisation campaigns, through detailed analysis of in-situ test data, laboratory testing results and a thorough grasp of engineering principals. Geotechnical experience in design of deep foundations, design of offshore piles and geohazard assessment is a distinct advantage. You should be experienced in the management of individuals and teams, collaboration with external and internal stakeholders, client and subcontractor relationship management, and delivery of large technical projects with associated engineering reporting, on time and to budget.
The role involves oversight of site investigations which can span multiple years with extensive onshore laboratory testing campaigns involving testing from basic classification to advanced cyclic and dynamic campaigns. Technical reporting requirements range from Factual to Interpretive and Engineering Design. This is combined with a broader role within the management of the Engineering team, playing a key role in leadership, aligning with and implementing the goals of the Head of Engineering and Engineering Manager.
You should have a well-developed technical network within the geotechnical industry and be energetic in delivery of R&D, research, technical publications, presentations and attendance at industry events. Your enthusiasm for this should be a source of inspiration for less experienced team members.
At Geoquip Marine, we have our own large inhouse advanced geotechnical testing laboratory, also located in Bristol. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the testing specialists to deliver projects, increase our geotechnical testing capability and look for opportunities to develop industry relevant research initiatives.
We operate within a flat leadership structure, allowing decisions to be made rapidly with minimal bureaucracy. Your ideas can flourish quickly.
If you like the sound of the role outlined above, please come and join our Engineering leadership team at Geoquip Marine.
