Our Highways team continues to grow, creating an opportunity for an experienced Drainage Engineer to play a key role in delivering major road and highway projects across WA and nationally. As a Principal Drainage Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across the planning, design and delivery of drainage and water management solutions for major highways and transport infrastructure projects. Working closely with our highways, civil, structures and environmental teams, you'll help deliver innovative and sustainable outcomes while mentoring the next generation of engineers. How you'll make a difference Lead the drainage design for major highways and transport infrastructure projects across Western Australia and Australia. Deliver stormwater management, flood modelling and hydraulic design solutions from concept through to detailed design. Act as the technical lead for multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring high quality and efficient project delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients including Main Roads WA and other transport authorities. Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers while contributing to the continued growth of our highways capability. Support business development activities, including proposals, client engagement and identifying new opportunities. Qualifications The qualities that help you thrive The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered. Around 8 – 15 years' experience in drainage, stormwater or water resources engineering within a consulting environment. Strong experience delivering drainage design for major highways, road or transport infrastructure projects. Knowledge of Main Roads WA requirements and Austroads design standards. Experience using drainage and hydraulic modelling software such as DRAINS, 12d, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW or similar. Proven ability to lead technical delivery across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with clients and project stakeholders. A recognised Civil Engineering degree and eligibility for Chartered status with Engineers Australia.
