Job Description With a strong and growing pipeline of highways and transport infrastructure projects across Sydney and NSW, our team continues to secure major opportunities across state and local government clients. As momentum continues to build, we’re looking for a Principal Highways Engineer to play a key role in leading project delivery, strengthening client relationships and helping shape the future growth of our Sydney highways business. How you’ll make a difference: Lead the design and delivery of major highways and transport infrastructure projects across NSW Drive technical excellence across complex road and multidisciplinary design packages Develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for key transport clients Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams across major road infrastructure projects Build trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners Support the growth of AECOM’s highways capability across Sydney and the broader NSW market Qualifications The qualities that help you thrive The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Proven experience delivering highways and transport infrastructure projects within a consulting environment Strong technical capability across road design and relevant Austroads and TfNSW standards Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project deliverables Confidence building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships Commercial awareness with experience managing project scope, budgets and programme outcomes A collaborative and proactive approach with a passion for mentoring and developing others Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and relevant professional registration or chartership 8+ years of experience within highways, roads or transport infrastructure engineering Additional Information Why you’ll love working with us Flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, part-time, job-sharing and hybrid work options Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year Volunteer and representation leave Flex public holidays – swap Easter or other holidays for ones that suit you better Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
