Responsibilities

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the HR Operations & Performance team as a Principal HR Business Partner, where you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that service provision and the activities of the HR Business Partnering Services are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
  • Fostering a positive work culture aligned with SA Public Sector and WCHN values, promoting employee safety, learning, innovation, and inclusivity, while leading and motivating the team to achieve excellence in service provision and business partnerships.
  • Providing coaching, mentorship, and performance supervision to direct report staff, ensuring they receive timely feedback, appropriate supervision, and access to professional development.
  • Leading the HR Business Partner Team at WCHN to deliver core HR processes, support the WCHN Strategic Plan, and identify opportunities for integrated HR services that inform decision-making and service delivery.
  • Providing expert human resource management advice in relation to restructure and change projects including embedding human resource management principles in the change, applying industrial principles of consultation, and helping leaders to manage the impact of change

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience in providing expert strategic and operational advice to senior management on a range of general Human Resource matters including advising on, interpreting, and administering legislative and policy requirements and representing an organisation in complex/appeal matters.
  • The ability to lead and inspire staff by modelling high standards of work performance, provide leadership in the creation of ideas and innovation and clearly communicate the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills together with proven abilities in liaising, consulting, and negotiating complex and sensitive issues.
  • A sound understanding of contemporary HR practices and approaches, human resource management and procedures and their application with the SA Public Sector, including awards, guidelines, EB Agreements and Codes of Practice, WHS, EEO, Quality management and performance management processes and quality improvement principles and procedures.
  • The ability to work independently under broad direction only and to manage projects, including identifying performance outcomes, planning activities and setting priorities to achieve objectives and meet deadlines, often in a context of competing priorities and expectations
