Your role with us: As Principal Illustrator, you’ll define and drive the art direction from concept to final assets, guiding style, mood and quality across projects. What you will do: Lead visual direction and pre-production for new game titles, from concept to final approval. Collaborate with Producers and Game Designers to define game themes, art style and illustrative vision. Create high-quality key art, characters, symbols and environments that set the game’s aesthetic and emotional tone. Develop and maintain art style guides, mood boards and visual references. Set the benchmark for illustration quality and provide mentorship and feedback to the art team. Review and approve all concept and illustrative assets before production handoff. Ensure visual clarity, consistency and player engagement while respecting slot-specific constraints. Communicate visual intent and guidelines clearly to Squad Leads and artists, providing thorough documentation for smooth production integration. Work with Technical Artists and Developers to ensure illustrations are scalable, compatible and optimised for the pipeline. Stay ahead of iGaming visual trends, explore innovative illustration techniques and help evolve Twist’s studio-wide visual identity. Balance creative ambition with practical implementation to deliver efficient, high-quality production-ready assets. What you will bring: Minimum of five years of professional experience in illustration, concept art or art direction, preferably within the games or iGaming industries. Deep understanding of slot game visuals, including composition, clarity, symbolism and visual psychology. Exceptional illustration skills, demonstrated through a strong portfolio showcasing range and high-quality execution. Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or similar applications). Proven experience working in a production environment alongside producers, designers, engineers and other artists. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to provide creative leadership through influence, setting high standards and demonstrating expertise, without direct managerial authority.
