POSITION SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a visionary Technology Architect with a robust understanding of full application stack development and experience in emerging technologies in the AMI 2.0 space. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on edge computing, distributed intelligence, AMI networks, data management, hybrid infrastructure and cloud platforms, big data, and cybersecurity. Additionally, the candidate should possess the ability to understand and implement how AI will overlay in the AMI 2.0 strategy, experience in setting technical vision, direction, and execution.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Extensive experience implementing and leading full application stack solutions across cloud, edge, and on-premises environments, including software design, development, testing, and DevOps.
- Proven expertise designing distributed systems leveraging edge computing and mesh network technologies, specifically in deploying and managing AMI network solutions.
- Deep knowledge of AMI networks, including communications protocols, data collection systems, and meter firmware.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and big data technologies for large-scale data management supporting real-time analytics.
- Strong capabilities in cybersecurity across IoT devices, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and their integration within AMI 2.0 strategies to enhance operations.
- Ability to set a technical vision and execute technology roadmaps effectively.
- Experience establishing technical governance models for emerging technology initiatives.
- Strong experience in emerging technology trends and their application in the energy sector.
- Exceptional skills in translating business requirements into technical solutions and architectural roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills demonstrated influential skills in complex organizational environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise architecture or solution architecture roles.
- 5+ years of experience with distributed systems architecture and large-scale data platforms.
- Proven experience designing secure IoT ecosystems or utility technology platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud-native architectures and hybrid infrastructure models.
- Experience with modern software development methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong background in cybersecurity frameworks for critical infrastructure.
- Experience with utility AMI systems, meter data management platforms, or grid modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of utility industry standards (e.g., NIST, IEC, IEEE) relevant to grid technologies.
- Experience with containerization, orchestration, and microservices architectures.
- Background in AI/ML application design and implementation.
- Professional certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), architecture frameworks, or cybersecurity.
