EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in law and member in good standing of a Canadian Law Society, Bar Association and/or Quebec Bar.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience as a practicing lawyer in insurance law.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal training in the private practice of law across Canadian provinces.
  • Having reached the level of Senior Associate, Senior Counsel or equivalent within the legal career path.
  • Ability to create rapport and build relationships in all Canadian offices through regular travel.
  • Marked aptitudes for transferring knowledge and enhancing legal professional development.
  • Ability to provide coaching internally in an effective way.
  • Tact, discretion and confidentiality in handling the function’s responsibilities.
  • Aptitude for interacting at all levels of the organizations, both internally and externally where needed.
  • Professionalism at all times and faculty for acting as role model.
  • Bilingualism, French and English, preferred.

Responsibilities

This is a strategic legal training role within the Canadian offices of Clyde & Co, with a remit to design training programs to facilitate the integration and retention of summer students, articling students, newly qualified lawyers and lateral associate hires across Canada, through a sustainable platform offering which offers consistency in quality in all of our locations. The role offers further opportunity to consider the training offered to our more experienced lawyers and be involved in training to support the standardisation of our legal delivery.
This is a hybrid role involving both remote work and onsite presence at a Clyde & Co office in Canada, with periodic travel to other offices across the country.
Compensation Range $ 160,000 - $180,000
