Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer to work in the Manufacturing Engineering Function team to ensure the effectiveness of tools, processes and policies which are in place.
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 or 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with knowledge and experience in various aspects of manufacturing system development and use of ERP systems. Somebody who would enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience to influence and develop best practice across the business.
You will be responsible for supporting the wider Manufacturing Engineering function and working alongside your counterparts in the other functional areas to create cross functional process fit for today’s working practices. You will also be responsible for defining and managing audit strategies in line with the master data policy working with the Manufacturing Engineering and Planning teams to drive improvements and standardisation while maintaining accurate Master Data.

The opportunity also allows and individual to grow their knowledge within manufacturing as part of development into future opportunities.

  • A strong collaborative nature, supporting engineering and the wider manufacturing team
  • Use of SAP to extract, understand and interpret data and communicate cause and effects based on actions/ decisions taken
  • Review of Engineering process to ensure they align across the business and support the delivery a robust MRP output
  • First line support for daily issues
  • Generating and distributing KPI reporting packs
  • Generation and Execution of Auditing strategies for master data including material masters, BOMS and routings
  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives to ensure the area of responsibility is continually developing to improve efficiency.
  • Development, maintain and control technical interfaces to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues.
  • Support process FMEA and process capability proving.
