KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coach and advise leaders and employees on a variety of components impacting employee experience: employee development, capability building, employee relations concerns, rewards and recognition, performance management, People policies
  • Face of People to New York leaders and colleagues, ensuring operational excellence to People strategic initiatives including leadership development, succession planning, workforce planning, inclusion and diversity, talent analytics, engagement survey and action planning, and overall process improvements
  • Partner with leadership on annual cycle needs including reward, talent and other strategic initiatives
  • Partner on day to day operational people needs
  • Lead on strategic projects representing the NY BU and NY People team as directed by the Chief People Officer for New York
  • In an effort to make employees lives easier, manage project or process work enabling our employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience as an HR Generalist/People Partner or in a business function
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Influencing skills to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization and with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trust
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to adapt the content / style of a message, based on an understanding of the climate and culture of a particular group and what will produce the best response
  • Demonstrates the ability to assemble complex ideas, issues and observations into clear and simple explanations.
  • Valid Driver’s License needed

Responsibilities

This Principal People Partner role will be an integral part of the New York People team. The successful candidate will bring high energy, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of implementing strategic people plans with passion for talent management. The People Business Partner should have the ability to be both strategic and operational, owning the People plan aligned to the New York Business Unit objectives, as well as front-line issues, managing them through to resolution. The People Business Partner will play a critical role helping to create and support a high performing team, help drive an inclusive culture and support engagement across the function.
In this role you will establish yourself as a go-to strategic People partner with the New York leaders you support. You will work closely and collaboratively across our People Centers of Excellence (Performance / employee relations, talent management, reward, recruiting strategy and professional development) and with the New York Labor team to provide the business the people support needed to be successful. The People Business Partner will support the business leaders in anticipating their short, medium and long term talent, leadership and organizational effectiveness requirements in order to deliver their objectives. This role will also be responsible for leading on projects on behalf of the New York People team or play a significant role on projects within the New York Business Unit.
