YOUR IMPACT AND CONTRIBUTION

As a Principal Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in product strategy and be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining products within the Data Protection & Storage portfolio. You’ll champion, automating processes and security through DevSecOps practices, deploying monitoring tools, and maintaining high-quality documentation to ensure our infrastructure remains robust, resilient, and reliable.
As part of the Data Protection & Storage crew, you’ll work with a highly skilled team of engineers, and collaborate in an environment that fosters innovation and upholds engineering excellence. In this solution focused team, you will contribute to the ongoing delivery of world-class outcomes.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrably skilled in programming and delivering quality, highly scalable infrastructure and database environments.
  • Tenured experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on managing public or private cloud environments (e.g., AWS, VMware, Converged Infrastructure / Database platforms).
  • In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and security automation.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Github actions, Cloud Formation.
  • Strong background in deploying and managing monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Splunk) to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies, networks, virtualization, and containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g Python, Bash Go, SQL, PL/SQL)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions, automating operational tasks to increase platform availability, stability and operational efficiency.
  • Influence and advocate for DevSecOps practices, integrating security into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Oversee with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability through the implementation of SRE practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures, ensuring consistency and facilitating knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines, platform, and applications.
  • Stay current with industry trends, leveraging latest technologies to continuously improve our platform architecture and operations.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and development.
