PRINCIPAL POLICY OFFICER, ABORIGINAL MATERNAL CHILD & FAMILY HEALTH UNIT, HEALTH AND SOCIAL POLICY BRANCH

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

  • This is an Identified role under the Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated relevant, professional and management experience in the area of health and social policy including experience in and/or strong understanding of Aboriginal maternal, child and family health and the NSW Government Closing the Gap initiatives and priority reform areas.
  • Significant experience in developing, analysing and evaluating policy and other projects in a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver on complex policy, program and project areas.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

This role will be responsible for leading:

  • Aboriginal maternity and child and family health initiatives, including those under Closing the Gap and Brighter Beginnings.
  • The role includes the strategic leadership of the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Services (AMIHS) and Building Strong Foundations (BSF) programs and Birthing on Country.
